    The only reason I say it's still really early is that items tend to change/go out of stock/be replaced by newer models quite often.

    You can start a wishlist and not publish it until later if you want...

    I have to admit it's fun to start thinking about stuff :)

    I started a wish list about 15 weeks.  We didn't register until 20 weeks. 

    A lot of stores are in the process of marking items down for clearance to make way for the new summer stock.  You may want to start with a wish list, since chances are something will be discontinued in the next few weeks.

    FWIW, my friend is registering today and is totally exhausted by the process.  It might be good to start early so you can go in stages (like most important stuff first then work your way to stuff like clothes).

    She bought that baby bargains book and did a ton of research before she started, so that might be a good way to start.  It took her about a month to get through that book and pick exactly what stroller, breast pump, etc. she wanted. 

    Also, she registered through Amazon.  It's pretty cool because it lists everything she registered for from all of the different stores in one spot.  Very convenient!

    I started mine around 15 week and have changed it about 9 million times already, I don't see a problem with getting an early start.
