My parents were up this weekend, and DS & his grandparents hit it off - he particularly was enamored with Nana, who helped him to play on her computer (he's a word processing GENIUS - he does things with Word that none of us can figure out... yes, we know we're asking for trouble). Well, this evening, when we went for a walk, he kept pointing at houses and saying "Nana?" Now, slightly debatable whether he was saying Nana or our neighbor's name, which he says like Nana, but it sounded like the former.
Then, when he heard my mom's voice on the voice message she left while we were out, his face lit up. We called her back, and he got rather upset when the call ended before we could say goodbye - so we called back one last time. It's one of the few times when I really have felt like we're taking something away from DS by being so far from family.
Boo...
