If you make your own cloth diapers

what kind of thread do you use?  I have been using 100% cotton thread and it keeps shreading in my machine.  I tried a poly/cotton blend and it did also.  I didn't know if I should go straight to heavy duty thread or if I should keep working with the 100% cotton.  TIA

  • I haven't made diapers, but I *think* anything with cotton will wick.  You might want to switch to a 100% poly thread.  As for it shredding in your machine, maybe take a look at your manual to make sure it's threaded correctly?

  • 100% poly thread is the ONLY thread to use for any sort of pocket or AIO diaper.  I recommend Gutermann brand.

As for the shredding, that's almost certainly due to a threading or machine issue.  Try replacing the needle and rethreading the machine, following the manual very carefully.
