(PIP) how young was LO when you first took him/her to a mall?

i've always been anxious about bringing DD to public places because of health risks but the other day i finally took her with me to a shopping mall. she's around 1 month and 3 weeks old. to my surprise, she loved it! she's sooo little but i saw how responsive she was to her environment. she loved the lights, the noise, everything.
the only time she was fussy all of a sudden was when we were about to go home. it's as if she knew we were leaving and wanted to stay longer! LOL

I've brought my baby out in public a few times already. I just make sure no one touches her (strangers always want too!). Plus, her big sister is in daycare and brought strep home for all of us to catch so I figure she's safer out and about ;-)

But we've been to many public places. I started by just taking "road trips" to places with drive-thrus (post office, bank, Starbucks). And eventually, I had a package to ship, so she went to the UPS store with me around 1 month. Before that, she had only been to my parents' house a few times.

I've been taking LO out since she was 2 weeks old. No one touches her, tons of people stopped me to look at her though. Only one person has wanted to touch her and he was 2. It was so sweet. He wanted to share his juice with her and touch her hair. I could have eaten him up he was so adorable!

Most people around here will ask before touching, guess it's just Canadian politness.
