I need help with this skirt

My mom bought me this skirt, and a teal shirt to go with it. My mom doesn't have the best fashion sense lol. The shirt is a long aline shirt and looks awful with the skirt. I tried this shirt with it but it still didn't look right. I'm thinking maybe a tank and cardigan? I'm having no luck finding anything, and having trouble with the colors. Any suggestions? I can't return it and I would hate to let it go to waste.

    Yeah, you need a tighter fitting shirt to go with that skirt since the skirt is kind of flowy. I understand what you are saying. I think a tighter fitting tank and cardigan would go great with it. What about this shirt in teal?

    I would go with a fitted white t-shirt (like from motherhood or gap) and the dress it up with torquise jewelry or a statement necklace... GL!

    i'd definitely go bump hugging with the flowy skirt (although i go bump hugging with everything..makes me feel thinner Stick out tongue) 

    I really like this top with it (in the aqua)!! 

    or something simple and fitted like this one in white

    Definitely something fitted in either teal, white or black!

     

    I'm a big fan of fitted shirts, too. So much more flattering on me....
