We have one that's a wooden frame with plastic bins from Target. It's $59.99, but goes on sale for $39 from time to time. We also bought a big plastic Circo tub w/rope handles from the hardware dept ($6 I think) to keep stuffed animals, etc. in.
We are going to get an IKEA Expedit bookcase to store DS's toys in. They have bins you can buy that fit in the sections. We have one in our kitchen and it holds a crapton of stuff, so I thought one would be good for DS's stuff too. I like that it is really deep too.
We have 3 of these cubbie things from Target with the cloth bins.
You can stack them or put them side by side.
The only thing that I don't like about them is that DD can't see into the bins so she plays with the toys on the open shelves before she finally realizes and slides the bins out. But at the same time it's nice to hide those little toys away since these are in our living room.
