bf question

Thanks to a few replies to a previous post...  I think I have thrush!  Has anyone had this?  How is it treated.  I'm pretty sure it's in my ducts since my whole breast burns and feels like needles in my nipples...  DS doesn't have any signs - I'm going to call the pedi in the morning just in case.Any tips???

Re: bf question

  • Here is what my OB told me when both DD and I had it: Anything that touches your nipples should be washed daily, and if you wear breast pads, change them as soon as they get damp. Boil all nipples/pacifiers/breast pump parts daily. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of water and put on your nipples after each feeding (yeast can't grow in vinegar). Throw out the mixture and make new every day. You can use Monistat 7 cream on your nipples as well, just wipe any extra off with a damp cloth before your LO nurses again. Doing these things cleared my case right up, so hopefully it works for you!
