CD leaking! HELP!

I just bought some used FB from diaperswappers and used the about a week and now they are leaking!  I don't know what they were washed in before but I use rock'n green.  Here is my routine, see if that's the problem and I'd love your recipe for stripping since that's what they need, and how often do you do it?

I wash maybe 7 diapers at a time
cold rinse
hot wash/cold rinse with 3 scoops detergent (we have hard water)
cold rinse

For our other laundry I use the eco-friendly soap from Costco and am using up what fabric softner I have left and will switch to vinegar.  I can't afford to wash everything in rock'n green or I would.  Could this be the issue?

Re: CD leaking! HELP!

  • not familiar with that soap but 3 scoops sounds like too much

fabric softener is a no no.

sounds like you need to strip them, wash in hot with 1-2 tbs of blue dawn dish detergent and keep rinsing until no suds are left.  it might take several rinse cycles.

ETA: our water is very hard too.  you can use calgon or white king but i've only ever used it occasionally.

  • Since they are used you might want to strip them then continue with your normal washing routine?  Just an idea....Good luck!

She is only using fabric softner on her clothes, not diapers.

    just noticed that, thx

  • Thanks for the suggestions.  Any reason why to use the "blue" dawn?  Also Should I set the water level to large load?  I run it at med or small right now.  I have a top-loader btw.
