Help! Cough & no voice... what can I take?

I need some relief from this constant coughing, sore throat and no voice!  I was at the doctors today- he said its just a virus and there is nothing medicinal I can take because I am pregnant.

 What have you ladies taken to ease these things?

 Advice is greatly appreciated!!!

    Fisherman's Friends come in all kinds of new flavours (well maybe not new, but new to me!).  I had a lung infection last year when I was pregnant and had to take antibiotics.  If your cough doesn't go away, go back in.  Mine was getting worse and it was around for like 3 weeks and I didn't go in b/c I assumed they couldn't do anything for me.

    If it is a virus, it is true they can't do anything anyway...

    Thanks so much. They said it is a virus- but I will for sure go back if it persists. I am so sick of being sick with no relief :(

    My doctor told me I could take Robitussin DM for my cold.  I don't have a cough, so I'm not taking it.  I'm doing a sinus rinse twice a day for my running nose and helps keep me from getting a sinus infection.

    Mean doc!! My doc also approved robotissin dm... What about herbal tea with honey... Ricolas usually work pretty well on my stubborn coughs... Feel better soon!!!!
