Switch from Crib to Toddler Bed

If you have made the switch......How old was your LO when you made the switch?  And what type of toddler bed are you using?

    We still haven't--he's 20 mos.  BUT we do have one--in the box still.  It's a wooden Elmo one from BRU that was on Clearance.  It's so cute.  My parents have the same one and he's slept overnight there and napped there once.  I'm not sure how he'll do at home though.

    We did this just a few weeks ago because she was climbing out.  She is 21 months.  We have a convertable crib so just converted the crib to the toddler bed.  She has done great and loves her big girl bed!
    DD~6 years old~born June 6, 2008 (1st grade)
    DS~4 years old~born November 6, 2010 (1st year of preschool)

    We're in the process of switching DD (20-months old) to a twin bed (decided to forgo the toddler bed altogether) and have had mixed results.  She fell asleep on the floor last night after throwing a bit of a fit when I left her room.  Granted, she's also in a new room so that might have something to do with it.  But, yesterday afternoon, she also threw a fit but ended up sleeping in the bed for her nap.
