I had a 'Life flashed before my eyes' moment.

We were at the park with the kids that I nanny. Liliana was chasing one of the little girls, and the little girl ran out the gate. I screamed for them to stop, and Liliana was out in the street faster than I could blink. A car almost hit her. I have never ran so fast in my life. I scooped her up just in time and jumped back onto the sidewalk. I stood there in shock and felt like throwing up. 

The gate is usually closed but someone had opened it and forgot to shut it in the few minutes that I hadn't glanced over at it.

    I'm so glad she's alright and I can only imagine how scared you were!  It's really frightening how fast things can happen.

    My throat closes when I start to think about it. She's so fricking fast, and it's terrifying for me. I keep thinking of the what ifs, even though she is perfectly fine.

    OMG It makes me ill to even think about it. Imagine what the person driving is feeling...oh gosh thank god everyone is ok!

    Goodness, that is so very terrifying!!

    For what it's worth, I hope that the driver had been driving cautiously anyways if they knew they were at a playground area. KWIM?  Thank god they must have been paying attention to stop in time, etc.

    i got a little sick just reading your post!  so scary.  things can change in the blink of an eye.  use this as a warning - i bet that gate will NEVER be open when you're at the park again - you'll make certain of that!
