hmm.. BH contractions...

I had my non stress test today on maternity and they said I was having a lot of contractions.. I didn't feel a thing! I've tried to pay more attention to things and what I may have been mistaken for baby A's head and Baby B's butt bulging might actually be contractions.. my belly is pretty rock hard right now.. how long do these last for? what should I look for in case these turn into the real thing? TIA

  • if they get at all painful, or if you get a dull backache in your lower back that won't go away go even when you change position and drink a bunch of water, go in and get checked. if you notice more than 4 in an hour, or you notice a pattern to them (ie you have one every 10 minutes or so) call your doctor. if you get any that you can't breath/talk through, call the doc.

i get them a lot and those are the basic guidelines i got from my MFM. :-)

  • I got them all the time too. Purplepuggles hit the nail on the head, but I wanted to add that they really worried me the first time around because I would get like 10 per hour. The thing that helped me discern real from "false" was that if I napped or went to bed these would go away by morning.
