DS is a very gassy baby and we are trying soy formula to see if that helps his tummy issues. We tried just doing it cold turkey on Saturday and he did good for 2 bottles. Then, during the 3rd bottle he would only drink an ounce and then he refused the rest until we made him a bottle of 1/2 soy 1/2 milk based formula. I honestly don't think he likes the taset of the soy by itself. Since then we have been making him the half and half bottles and he has been doing great. He has been less gassy and less fussy but he hasn't pooped since Saturday either! In your opions would it be ok to continue mixing the 2 formulas since he is doing good? Or...would you gradually get your LO to take a whole soy bottle? I would hate to do it but I have also thought about just trying the Similac Sensitive to see if that would work for him. Help?! I'm ready to get this figured out soon!!
Re: Formula Questions (soy & milk based)
My DS was very gassy so we switched to soy, then he became extremely constipated which is probably more painful... So now we are on Nutramigen which is the best formula he has been on so far!
EDIT: My pedi told me that soy formula is notorious for constipating babies.
