It was fine.
I thought that DH was going to either pass out our vomit when he realized that the doc was going to do a pap smear with him in the room. He asked if I wanted to hold his hand, and was really relieved when I said no.
And then, after it was over, he asked me when they were going to do it.
The doc is fabulous. An odd person, but a very good match for us. He's very committed to his private practice and lots of individual attention, and is really accustomed to people with our insurance, which means we don't have to worry about a lot of confusion or different stories from different people.
We'll go back in two weeks for an ultrasound to make sure that there's a heartbeat and everything looks good, but as of now "your hips and pelvis are broad enough" (like I haven't been hearing that since I was 16!) and the size of my uterus is right in line with my dates.
Not thrilling, but that's the update!
Re: Oh yeah, I had an appointment!
That's a great update! Yay for a good appointment - especially the insurance thing. I'm dreading any appts with my new insurance.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And...did it come? Please? Tell me!!!
Who says that? Unless you're a 12 year old girl, I'd say any woman is equipped for birth. Sorry, that just would have rubbed me the wrong way (er...I guess it DOES rub me the wrong way).
