Does anyone have experience with rashes? It looks kind of like hives - she's got big red patches on her thighs and some smaller ones on the backs of her arms. She's not itching and doesn't seem bothered by them at all, but the leg rash looks unpleasant. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow but I was wondering if there was anything I could/should put on it. I've looked up rashes online but can't really determine with any certainty what it is.
Re: Red raised rash on inner thighs - hives?
If it's not bothering her I wouldn't put anything on it - so pedi will be able to see it in all it's glory tomorrow.
If it starts itching really bad or something you can put some OTC cortisone on it.
Hope it goes away soon!
i wish i could see a pic of it...i can't quite picture it. cal's had a few different rashes lately (including hives), so i have a little bit of experience. his hives started out as little welts, much like a fresh mosquito bit (NOT red) that appeared and disappeared off and on throughout the day (just a couple at a time, in various locations on his body), then after his afternoon nap he woke up with his face BRIGHT red and covered in welts! they went away on their own but the on-call pedi told us to give him benadryl, so we did run out and get that. i have come to HATE rashes, b/c they are always such a mystery. but i did read that unless they are accompanied by high fever, or the child is clearly very ill, they are not cause for concern.
