Anyone not burp til the end?

LO gets PISSED if we try to take the bottle away to burp him and I'm thinking that's why he spits up so much cause he gets so worked up. He screams while we are burping him and throws himself around until we give him the bottle back...DH just gave him a bottle and waited til he only had an ounce left to burp him once he noticed he was starting to slow down, and he didn't spit up at all, while all day long he's spit up a TON for me. I don't know if it's a bad thing to wait though as far as gas goes? Granted we just gave him Gripe Water for the first time before this bottle so that could have settled his stomach, but still...

I only burp midway if she starts squirming around, otherwise she usually gets 2 good burps after she finishes her 4 oz

I EBF (except for the occasional bottle of breast milk). When he nurses, I wait until the very end to burp him, but when he gets the bottle we stop him after every ounce to burp him. Part of the reason is to slow him down since it's easier/faster from the bottle. He does burp every time we stop though, so maybe he does need it.

I truly believe that you have to do what works best for YOU and YOUR baby. Every person and baby is different.

I EBF most of the time but when we do give a bottle we usually wait to the end for the same reason you just described. LO will get worked up if we take it away earlier and will swallow more air wich equals more gas. We just make sure to burp him a long time when he's finished and to watch for any signs of gas for about 30 minutes afterward.

my DS likes to hold off until the end or not at all... you would think that we are killing him when we start to burp him... he would much rather just be gassy....what a little boy
