How was your weekend? We did alright until Nolan fell out of his bed at nap yesterday, and broke his right arm above his elbow. We took him to the ER where he got a temporary cast and we see a specialist this am. No surgery will be needed, but he is in pain, and pretty uncomfortable. It is also hard to keep a toddler from running around. Any suggestions?
I'm sorry he got hurt. I had a similar case with Gabriela at the beggining of the year were she broke her leg in a bounce house.
Once she had her permanent cast (full leg) she was moving all over...it was so funny because at daycare she was moving and playing in the slide like she had nothing in her leg. I'll just had to keep an eye on her to prevent that she started to jump with the cast and a couple of weeks after they took off the cast.
You'll be amazed how resourceful they become in these situations.
TTC # 2 w/ PCOS since January 2010...BFP 12/31/11!! EDD 09/11/12
Aww. Sorry to hear your LO was hurt. My DD broke her arm when she was four. She fell off her "big girl" bike while learning to ride with training wheels. The orthopedic surgeon who set her arm did follow up xrays and within 4 months after the break you couldn't even see the fracture anymore. he said children's bones repair/heal better and most of the time you wouldn't even know they had a break.
TTC #2 since Nov '07
Tried 4 cycles of Clomid, TI, Gonal-f, and IUI's - all BFFN's
Both tubes removed Nov '09
Low AMH = 0.3
IVF #1 for Feb '10 - cancelled due to poor response - Gonal-f and Repronex
IVF #1.2 for June '10 - Gonal-f, Menopur, and micro Lupron
ER - 6/19 (2 retrieved), ET - 6/22 (1 transferred with ICSI), Beta 7/5 = BFFN
IVF #2 for Nov '10 was cancelled due to poor response - Follistim, Repronex, and micro Lupron
IVF #2.2 for Feb '11 - Gonal-f, Repronex, and Ganirelix
ER - 2/24 (8 retrieved), ET - 3/1 (2 transferred with ICSI), froze 3, Beta 3/11 = BFFN
FET - 4/19 (3 transferred), Beta 4/28 = BFP, EDD 1/4/12
I haven't experienced a break, just 3 trips in for stitches on the head. I'm bad and let him watch a lot of tv when he is sick... so my prescription would be for lots of Thomas the Tank Engine episodes.
