Hey everyone! I see Lauren posted (thanks!, but Eli was born Friday night at 10:28 weighing 6lbs 9oz. I was put on strict bedrest a couple weeks ago after learning I had gotten pre-e, and about Wednesday last week, I noticed I was starting to have frequent contractions, but thought they were just BH. Woke up Friday morning to a lot of cramping and went to my normal u/s, NST and doc appt. While I was there, the contrax picked up pretty good and started getting more painful. My doc checked me and I was very soft and a few cms. My BP and protein levels were very high, so they went ahead and admitted me and I got to labor without pitocin for awhile. Then, got a low dose of pitocin and things went really quickly and I went from 4-10 cms in no time and before I knew it, I felt Eli coming out and had to tell the nurse, haha. Pushed three times and he popped out with no tearing or episiotomy, which was nice.
I'll be posting pics soon. Way easier time with a lot of things this time, It's amazing the difference a few days in gestation makes (Eli was born about 3 days later than Rose was). His suck/swallow reflex is excellent compared to what Rose's was, and I didn't have to pump in the hospital like I did last time. I had the bonding sensation right away this time, where with Rose, I was so in shock, I couldn't grasp that I had just had a baby. My epidural worked this time and I only felt pressure, never pain, where as with Rose, my epi went out when my pitocin was cranked up all the way and I felt every moment of giving birth to her. I got to talk and get really excited about pushing this time instead of trying to fight having a stroke from the pain, haha. It was just an excellent experience.
Hope everyone is doing well! I'll have to pop on more now that things are dying down.
