Help! My changing table is too short!

So here is the dilemma... I am 5'9 and my husband is also tall. Well we are buying the delta collection from target and the changing table that goes with it looks like it is made for someone that is 5' tall. My mom and I were trying to think of a way to raise the changing table, while keeping it safe and sturdy. Any suggestions???

Re: Help! My changing table is too short!

  • If you anchor it to the wall I don't see putting it on top of a sturdy wooden box (also anchored to the wall) being a problem.

  • Screw big wooden baby blocks to the bottom of the feet?

  • My husband and I had the same problem (I'm 5'9, he is 6'5) so we ended up making a changing table out of a table top from ikea and prefinished shelves from lowes.  I don't know if there is a safe way to raise one!

  • Could you just take it back and get one that is taller, but has a similar style to go along with the rest of the furniture. We opted out of the changing table and are using a changing pad on top of a dresser. We're doing the same thing for our first and it's worked out beautifully, plus we have more room for other pieces of furniture.
  • Post a picture.

I like the idea of making big alphabet blocks on the legs.  OR you can build a platform that will sit under the table to raise it.

  • I don't know how thick the legs of the changing table are, but what about the risers you put under a bed to raise it off the ground to create more space underneath?

This is what I was going to say.

    Me too.

  • ***lurking from 2nd Tri*** but I had to post. We also have the Delta set from Target and my MIL came over yesterday and saw everything and loved it, but she actually commented on how short it seemed. I am only 5'2 so its not a big deal but I could TOTALLY see your dilemma. Just wanted to say good luck!!

  • They have those blocks that go under the feet of your bed to raise it for storage; they're pretty sturdy since they're meant to hold a bed.  Maybe try and find those?  It might not look very nice, but it should do the job.

    This.

I'm short so I'm worried about the dresser being to tall for me but I imagine that DH will love it. Plus it is multifunction which I love!
