Where to buy play sand (for sandbox)??

I'm hearing that it's important to buy silica-free sand b/c of cancer causing attributes to the silica????  I had no idea.  And then I'm hearing some sand has pebbles.  I didn't think that there was that much to buying sand but evidently I'm wrong.

Does Menards sell it (for Midwest ladies)?

Lowes??  Ace Hardware??

We just got ours--it was in storage from a Christmas gift and it's disappointingly SMALL--half the size I thought it was--BOOOO!!!!  But I still can't wait to get it filled for DS.

    Meh, we just bought the 'play sand' bags at Home Depot.  I'm not all that concerned about the cancer causing sand.

    Our DCP just bought play sand at Menards.  It was purple and had a different texture than regular sand.

    I have a friend who recommended buying bags of tiny pebbles intended for fish tanks b/c it doesn't track in the house.

    I haven't begun shopping for sand, so I'm not sure what we'll buy and I had no idea about the silica so thanks for sharing!

    Can you tell me more about this silca-free sand?

    DH just built DS a huge sand box and I was wondering about what type/where to get sand.
