We've bought a house in the Tournament Players Club area of Blaine. We've been living in St. Paul for nearly 7 years but the northern suburbs are new to us.
I SAH so will be looking for things nearby to do w/ my kids.
Tell me the best thing about Blaine!?!
Re: Moving to Blaine
I know that area.
It's nice because there are tons of things pretty conviently close to you. We're on the edge of Shoreview.
Shoreview community center is close. It's definately worth it to buy a seasonal family pass to have someplace to go in the winter days.
If you're looking for a MOPS group, I go to one in Anoka that wouldn't be too much farther for you.
I've heard that Pump It Up in Ham Lake is a fun place to take kids. I'm not sure what age of kids it's for.
Not kid related- DH and I love Acapulco and Carol's Restaurant in Blaine (especially their breakfasts).
Welcome to the neighborhood!

I live in Blaine, we go to Terry TIme adventure park (or land? I can never remember!), or in andover there is Bunker Beach pool once summer rolls around.
I live in Andover which is pretty close to Blaine and i love this area.
Anoka has a halloween parade every year that is big and a lot of fun. Anoka is a historic district so there are tones of cute little shops, i love just walking around down there. Also the anoka aquatic center is open in the summer is great fun. here is a link https://www.ci.anoka.mn.us/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC=%7B4EEF4901-5699-4217-818F-58ECC6E8B0EF%7D one of the shops in anoka you can pick out ceramic things like piggy banks etc and paint them and have them glazed and fired, i cant remember the name but its great fun.
there are also lots of pumpking patchs, berry farms etc in the area that i love.
there are also two local ymcas like the pp said, bunker hills park in andover is nice they have a wave pool and beautiful camping and picnic areas as well as walking/biking trails.
i love all the resturants in blaine and c oon rapids area as well, i love this area which is why we bought our house here.
