I used the midwives at the Sekine, Rasner practice. Beth is the one who delivered Mungee. I also saw Gracie. Amy was new when I started going there so I didn't see her until after Mungee was born. I also recently met Mitzi and like her alot, she's an OB.

How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?
Jodi, do the midwives deliver downtown as well or only at South? We both work downtown, so would prefer to be there.
I believe that they will deliver at South or Downtown
And CONGRATS btw
ETA: I think that Beth was more supportive of going the natural route (which I tried, but was not successful with). Gracie was more matter of fact (on the day I delivered, by which I was 6 days overdue) so she stressed doing whatever it would take to get Mungee delivered, including breaking my water and administering Pitocin.
From what I understand Beth is getting close to retiring. Amy is nice, but I don't know anything about her philosophy. Mitzi is very spunky and energetic.

Thanks I won't have a ticker or anything until after first trimester. I had a CP last month and being very cautious. Plus, were hoping to not tell anyone (except nesties) until 12 to 14 weeks.
I called their office on Friday to see if I could schedule an appointment with Beth and they said she was now part time. The receptionist that I spoke with said to call back Monday and she would have an answer if she would see new patients or not.
We waited to tell too, I told 2 close friends/nesties right when I found out (they were stalking my chart so they would have known anyway), we waited to tell family 'til 8 weeks (after the first ultrasound) and 13 weeks (after the 2nd ultrasound) to tell everyone else
I didn't realize you were already pregnant - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think I remember you saying you wanted to go natural? I did Cecilia Mitchell Miller's Bradley class and highly recommend it. She is a wealth of information and make me 100% comfortable going into labor
I hope Beth can see you. There is another nestie who had Beth deliver her daughter and she really liked her too. We waited until 7w3d to tell family and my best friend and then told everyone else the next week. People I worked with already suspected since I prominently displayed saltines and gingerale on my desk

Did you use Cecilia as your doula as well? I've had multiple friends refer me to her. I'm keeping her name and number, but wasn't going to contact her until end of first trimester.
Jodi-I still didn't get a firm answer yesterday. I scheduled a confirmation appointment with my regular GYN, thats also an OB. I will be calling Sekines office back around 10 this morning.
I hope they were able to give you an answer today. I would be so anxious having to wait. I definitely think you would like Mitzi too. Are you set on going with a midwife rather than an obstetrician? It would be a good idea to get to know all in the practice just in case your preferred person isn't available at delivery time. I just love chatting about pregnancy but I don't know if we will have anymore because I am still having a rough time adjusting. How are you feeling so far?

How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?
I got an answer Beth is seeing new patients, but they now require you to see the other midwife in case she is off when it is time. I scheduled an appointment with them. Its April 20th, I will be almost 8 weeks.
I'm not set on either or. We will most likely hire a doula. DH is a wimp and proudly admits it. He hasn't down well in the past when I was in pain and I will need a GOOD encourager. I feel fine, so far. I had spotting over the weekend, so it made for a long couple of days. I am learning that my regular breakfast at 6am and lunch around 1pm isn't cutting it.
As Mungee gets older, you may see yourself doing it again. If not, you have a beautiful little girl that will probably keep you running for years to come
Hiring a doula was the best money we spent. I didn't use Cee, we didn't quite see eye-to-eye on everything (she's a little more gung-ho about the natural stuff than I was, it was a bit intimidating going into it the first time). I used Heather Harper Palmer and recommend her 100 times over. She's absolutely amazing, she's on maternity leave now but I think she said she was going to start taking new clients in June.
As for contacting Cee, I'd do it sooner rather than later if you want to get in her class, Bradley is a 12-week class and hers fill up fast. Here's her website - https://www.birthyourwayjax.com/bradley.htm

Like Jodi, I love talking pregnancy (and babies)!
