lost my mucus plug...have qu's

in Success after IF

For those of you who lost your mucus plus how long was it before you went into labor or had your water break?

Is it Ok to take a bath or have sex after losing my mucus plug??

I am so ready to meet our little one!!  Thank you so much for your insight!!

    It was a few weeks for me - it can grow back.

    Yes, you can take a bath, have sex etc...right up until your water breaks.

    I am not sure about sex after you lose your plug.  I lost mine 2 wks or more before I went into labor.  My water didn't break though when I was in labor.  It can replenish itself.  That isn't a good indicator, unless you also have frequent contx - every 10 min, etc.

    I lost mine a few weeks before giving birth too.  Nothing happened until my water broke.

    I thought I had lost mine at 38 weeks, but then when I really lost it (it was definitely clear), I went into labor that day (40w2d). So it could be anytime or it could still be a few weeks.  GL!

    With DD#1 - lost it on thursday night, had her early sat morning

    With DD#2 - lost it on Xmas eve night, had her on Dec 27th

    How exciting!  Rest up now!!!  FWIW, my doc said bath was fine even if my water breaks.

    DS1=lost it late on Thursday afternoon......water broke next night (Friday)

    DS2=started losing pieces of it over the weekend (mostly on Sunday....). Monday morning I started having contrax (5 min. apart). He was born by c-section that afternoon.....

    I personally would not have sex right now. It can be weeks, but if its truly your MP, labor is probably close and I would not want to infect anything.

    I lost mine at 3 pm on 6/17 and my water broke at 3 am on 6/18.  It all depends, though.  It's a good sign that your cervix is definitely changing!  GL!
