No one has any peanut allergies on DH or my side of the family. So on Saturday, I gave N a tiny taste of Peanut Butter. Within 1.5 hours he has a bit of a rash/hives on him - mostly his face. We were out Target when I noticed it and by the time we got home 2 hours later it cleared up. I didn't have to give him Benedryl. I won't be giving him peanut stuff again anytime soon. But, is this something he will outgrow?
Re: Do they outgrow peanut allergies?
some kids do, some don't. my niece is severely allergic and she is currently in a clinical program (has been for about a year) where they introduce very, very small amounts of PB to her in a hospital setting. she has made some significant improvements, but still must carry her epi around.
i think it probably has a lot to do with severity.
