EFF + family safe pest control?

i know this has come up before, but i can't find anything in searching.

does anyone have a pest control strategy to rec for roaches? i saw one this morning, and am having big ole wiggins at the idea of my crawling DD on the floor. i've heard borate powder, but everything i see online says "keep away from children/pets." i wear her pretty often, but she'll get down eventually Wink

    whatever Orkin (the company) sprays is awesome on roaches and is (supposedly) very safe for kids and pets. They would have to drink like a gallon of the stuff to get sick.
