? for those who make LO's solids

How many cubes was your LO eating at 6-7 mths? She gets 3 in am with her oatmeal and 3 at bedtime, but feel she could eat a lot more. Anyone else give LO 4 cubes at bedtime? That just seems like a lot to me!

Also, does carrots constipate your LO? I never knew carrots were constipating but DD had them last night and was definitely constipated this am. Bananas do the same thing to her...is there anything you do/give LO to counter act the constipation when you feed them a constipating food? Thanks!

Re: ? for those who make LO's solids

  • I am not sure how big your cubes are, but can tell you what we are at. Our ds is not a huge an of solids so he isn't a great example. He only eats 1 beaba pod at night - - they are about the size of a jar of food. We make fruit for the morning and rarely does he eat more than 2-3 tablespoons (unfrozen)

Sounds like your daughter rocks at solids - that is great!

  • We didn't start solids until DS was 6 months so he was eating 2 cubes at that time. He's 9 months now and eats 3 most of the time, sometimes 4. I typically give him prunes or pears for constipation. GL!

  • My LO eats 2 cubes in am with yogurt or oatmeal and 3 veggies cubes for dinner.

Carrots work the opposite for my LO, but I have heard this before too. We use prunes for constipation. I have heard that any "p" fruit helps.

  • DS eats 3 meals, for a total of about 9-10 oz. (cubes) a day.  As for the constipation, I would recommend prunes.

  • DS eats 4 oz of fruit in the morning (along with oatmeal), and 4 oz of veggies in the evening.  I'm thinking of adding in a third meal soon.

Pears work great for DS when he's constipated.
