.....did you use gowns for bedtime? We always used button sleepers. However, a friend is using the gowns and it seems so much easier. It would save a lot of hassle trying to do all the snaps in the middle of the night for all the diaper changes. Do you recommend them?

We had a few, but DS hated them. He didn't like anything around his feet. We could use the footed, zippered sleepers and he liked those ok.

I didn't like them, BUT DD had a hip dysplacia & had to wear a harness so it was difficult no matter what. I have 2 and will try them this time around.

DS lived in gowns or even better, convertable gowns. He could sleep in it as a gown (and swaddled), and then we'd snap it to make the legs during they day, or if we needed to go somewhere (so the carseat wouldn't make it ride up).

I never used them. I thought they were a huge PITA to pull up to do a diaper change due to the amount of material. I prefered regular sleepers.

YES! it made middle of the night diaper changes SO easy. i also dressed dd in kimono style shirts with just a diaper (she was tightly swaddled in a miracle blanket).

both were much easier than sleepers.

No gowns, depending on the temp, when he was a newborn he was just swaddled in a blanket w/ a onesie or zipper sleep and play type. Once it got colder, we did use the zipper blanket sleepers....but he was about 6 months by then.

We loved them! They were so much easier than doing snaps all the time. Carters and Baby Gap were the longest (and softest) we found, so we never had to worry about them riding up.

This is how I feel about them too. Plus it was annoying for me to even get it on over his head with all that fabric.

yes, with DD but I thought they were a PITA because they always bunched up and I had to pull them down so her feet got covered. I didn't really use them on DS.

I recommend the gowns to all new moms. We found them to be much easier for late night changes where snaps would wake her up, etc. We used the kiddopotomus swaddles and between that and the gowns, changes were super easy and quick.

YES! For all 4 kids that is what they lived in for the first several weeks of their lives. So much easier than messing with buttons or zippers!

ETA: They have ones that you can pull down instead of pull up over their heads when taking them off- I think that's how the Carter's ones are (just like their onesies).

Yes, we used the zippered ones that enclosed his feet. I liked them because he would be warm and it made diaper changes easier.

Exactly this. He still hates a blanket, I think he feels constricted.

We have a few and sometimes use them, but I prefer sleepers.

Ditto the pp who said that they ride up; I always worry about DD2 getting cold legs because she's a pretty active kicker. I used one the other day and put pants on underneath it, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having easy access for diaper changes.

We had like 10 of them for Jack that he wore for at least the first month ... SO much easier for the 28973946529746501473 diaper changes each night. I give them as shower gifts now all the time because they were one of my favorite newborn things

Best pj option, IMO, when they're little! No snaps or zippers to fool with, just wriggle them in and out and you're done. I loved the Carter's ones.....the cotton was softer and never too tight with a good amt of leg room
