B4s

So, I am torn. My stash is really pretty complete. I have

24 GMD prefolds,

2 bummies XS covers,

1 XS thirsties, 2 S thirsties

3 or 4 size one due wraps,

5 Spoppy pants AIOs

2 thirsties XS AIOs

3 S thisties AIOs

6 hemp doublers

I also have started on my O/S collection.

But, I have heard how good B4s are for nighttime.

I don't want to go over the top, but I do want to make sure I don't go crazy at night. I know this board always validates more buying, which I love. But seriously, tell me how necessary these are.

Re: B4s

  • I'd stick with what you have and see if you need a heavier hitter down the road.  We didn't need a real night diaper for several months with DD.  And, FWIW, we hated our B4s.  They never fit DD right.  Night diapers sometimes take some extra effort to pin down what works for you.

  • We have B4s and really like them but you won't need them until your LO is several months old. I think they fit at 10 lbs. We can still use just a regular prefold at night and be fine.

But, if you're looking for encouragement to buy them- they are SO cute and well made.

  • We didn't have a need for a specific nighttime diaper until a few months old.  That being said, we love our B4s, especially the Minky one.  If I could go back I would buy only minky nighttime diapers.
  • Thank you ladies for controlling my itchy finger this morning. I do need to go with what I have I think. Honestly, I don't have any more drawer space!
  • While I loooooved my B4s for night, I would probably hold off.  You won't need them for a few months because you'll be changing every feeding anyhow (NBs poop a ton).  I'd wait also to see if you have a heavy wetter on your hands.  We did for sure, but you may find that you don't need anything other than an extra insert.

haha... yeah, I never thought I'd be one to say "hang on... don't rush into buying a B4 just yet."  lol  They were, by far, my favourite diaper for night when we used cloth at night (ammonia became too strong with DS overnight and I was constantly battling my CDs).

  • Those diapers are niiiiiiice. I also think you should wait, though, unless you wanted a newborn one for a photo op.

It looks like you have a good starter stash, and her sale prices are never so amazing that you need to jump on them. That is the reason people are telling you not to buy- $23+shipping is still a lot for a diaper, even on sale. :)

  • I have some super cute diapers already from poppy pants and GM (I forgot about my one GM above. So, yeah, as cute as they are I guess I got my cute out with those. And the poppy pants were on sale for 15 and local so no shipping cost.

Ok, I'm glad it's not just me thinking this. I was all geeked last night when I heard about the sale, but $23 (or $15 for nb diapers, which is only $2 off), didn't seem like that great of a deal to me. Especially after I checked out her shipping prices. Yikes. Are these REALLY all that much better than Goodmamas or other fitteds?

Glad that it isn't just me that thinks this.  We have one NB one that I got for $14 ppd (I think it was brand new) and while I really like it I was having major trouble justifying close to $30/diaper.  As much as I'd love to buy a few I think I'll skip it and hope someone destashes...
