my stomach is already in a knot

b/c tomorrow is the viewing and funeral for our friends' 5 month old daughter who passed away Wed. from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. All weekend I have been thinking about it and dreading it. I know I am not going to handle this well. I just keep picturing her in the casket with our friends sitting there as everyone passes in line. Even worse is picturing the casket at the cemetery.

As a parent, I know what they have lost and it absolutely breaks my heart. Crying

    It's hard.  It's really really hard.  I work for EI and I've had several babies pass away from various accidents or disorders.  It's something you really can't prepare for and you never forget.  However...it makes you appreciate what you have that much more, kwim?  I just went to a 2yr old's funeral last weekend, and I think dd has gotten more hugs and kisses in the last week than she's ever gotten!

    wow. it's open casket? that is so rough.  I don't think I could do it.  so so sad.
