How often did you do it and for how long? I read somewhere that you should start around 2 months but then I got an email from some baby website saying "Your baby could be doing X during tummy time now". What's the deal?
Our pedi told us we could start a few minutes a day at a month. She also said if we wanted to lay them on our chests on their tummy that we could do that too. Both of our babies show really crazy neck muscles and head control though (both lift their heads with a lot of control) so they may have let us start early, I don't know.
At our baby care class yesterday, we were told to start around 3-4 weeks (once we had a routine of sorts going). We were told 1-3 minutes at a time at the beginning...eventually working up to 45-60 minutes a day.
We were told to use a pillow/boppy/on our chest all are fine.
We started at about 2-3 weeks. When they are less than 2 months old, you only need 5 minutes a day and it can be on your chest/stomach (which is mainly what we did at first). After 2 months, they like 5 minutes 2-3 times a day. You gradually increase this as they are able to handle it.
