How much is too much for crib bedding?

Okay this is my 2nd child, another girl. I have bedding from my 1st but I want something new for this one. I bought a black crib and have been having trouble finding bedding I LOVE, there are some I like but I really wanna LOVE it. Well I was thinking around $200 but the set I like is $350. Is that a crazy amount for a 4pc crib set? l LOVE the Kirby by Glenna Jean, it's not that I can't pay the $350 it's just that it's more than the crib cost is that dumb? Maybe others are paying that much and I'm the one that's weird. I have been thinking of all kinds of ways to rationalize it like it's the only other item I will buy since we have all of the big items (stroller, car seat, swing, etc) from DD. What do you ladies think? Would you do it if you had the money or settle for something else that's nice...just not exactly what you LOVE?

Re: How much is too much for crib bedding?

  • Is this going to be your one splurge (new) item for your second DD? If so I say go for it if you love it. But if you want to buy a bunch of other new stuff, then to me that's too much (I could afford it, but wouldn't spend that much on crib bedding).

  • As long as you can afford it and love it... I say buy it :-)   It's only too much if it is outside of your budget!

  • Like PP said, if you can afford it go for it.  We're most likely getting sheets  from RH that are $44/each, but we're skipping a bumper so I don't feel bad at all.

  • It's all about your budget.  If this purchase doesn't break the bank then go for it.  Besides, you are going to reuse many items from your DD so it doesn't sound like you will have to make many purchases.  It's all about making the nursery comfortable for you and LO and if this bedding will make you light up and your heart skip a bet every time you walk in then I say it's good for both of you.

  • If you love it get it!  If you don't you will always wish you had.  I don't think that is too much to spend esp if you don't mind paying that.
  • No one can tell you how much is too much.  Like pp said, if you are spending what you can afford and love it, get it!

  • I just splurged on a Glenna Jean set  so I have to say if you love it and can afford it your the one who has to be looking at it every day, go for it!
  • If you can afford it, do it! I would have been willing to pay that much for something I loved. It took me so long to find something (I ended up lucking out and only spending $100 for a Shabby Chic set).
