We are looking to buy a new house about 15 minutes away from where we are now. The problem is that what do you do for after school care if you don't have family to pick up your child and you work? I don't think the school she will be going to has after school care. She would need it from 3-4 until we are finished with work. Thanks!

Even if the school itself doesn't have after school care there will likely be something available. Call the school and ask. That's how I found Ian's after school care when I was working. It was a private company but they had a building on school grounds and picked up the kids after school, etc.

My ILs will pick DS up, but if we didn't have that, there is a daycare that would do aftercare at our school.

agree with pp that even if it's not on-site, there likely is some program in your town. In my town, there are two - 1 run by school system, 1 private - but neither are AT the school. Kids take busses to the after school programs. Your local YMCA might also have a program

I would def. call the school and ask

(I assume we're talking about public elementary school)

We can have the school bus drop DD off at daycare. When she's in 4K next year, she'll get picked up and dropped off there with some of her other friends.
