LO agressive when eating.

Lately DD has been pulling on my nipple like she's reeling in a small mouth bass.  She bats and tries to kung foo fight through the feeding.  Is this normal?  Anyone else have this issue?  Is it part of a the growth spurt I think she is going through?

Re: LO agressive when eating.

  • Sounds like it could be related to the growth spurt... DD does this when my let down isn't coming fast enough.  HTH!

  • Same issue here. My son is 2.5 weeks old and is the boob attacker! I think he's going through a growth spurt as well.
  • B does this, too. She'll punch and headbutt my boobs. LC said it's their "little mind's strange thinking that it will help the milk come faster."

  • Mine has done that since the beginning- its not at every feeding but at least once a day. And often grunts and groans during feedings. Friends have told me their LO's do the same. Makes me a little scared to BF in public for all the noices he will be making under the udder cover :-)
  • DS was like this for a couple of weeks around the point where you are now - I have no clue why, and it made feedings frustrating, but he kinda' just got over it one day. Hope that happens for you soon!

  • Oh, I'm not alone! Last night and this morning, DS was fighting the boob! I thought he was insane. He's also been sleeping like a mad man. Ahhh, so this is a growth spurt!

  • My DD seems to do this when she's really tired or when she's gassy.  If she's getting really bad, I'll take her off for a minute and burp her.  If she burps, she'll go back on and play nicely.  When she's just exhausted, nothing works!

My son is like a little baby animal at the boob. He's so funny and first shakes his head, then attacks my boobs with vigor. This will probably not be so entertaining when he has teeth... But, when he's tired and gassy, he does the pull- on- the- nipple thing. So, I pull him off and burp him and he usually settles down.
