Am I going to hell for this?
-->
I was dropping some stuff off at
the local thrift store's drop-off door, and a lady in an SUV pulled up
and dropped a diaper box and a bag. Being nosey, I walked over to see
what she had left, and it was a TON of brand-new looking baby clothes. I
snagged the stuff and waddled back to my truck. Am I the devil?

Maybe not hell, but you can
be arrested for stealing if you're ever caught. However, I
seriously doubt you make a hobby of it. lol!

Well, although I certainly
wouldn't do that I don't think you'll go to hell. If you were caught
that might be considered stealing. To be on the safe side I'd make an
extra donation somewhere just to even out the bad karma.

I hope there aren't hungry
people out there needing the money from that lost sale.

In my defense, I donated two
pieces of furniture, two huge bags of clothes, plus some books and
housewares stuff. AND I didn't even take the tax deduction. I went
inside afterward and bought some stuff too. The lady left a buttload of
barely touched baby clothes, mostly neutral (yay!) and some boy's from
newborn size up to 12 months. And no, I have never done it before and
won't make a habit of it! Lol.

You STOLE them. Once that lady
put them down, they belonged to the shop, regardless of what you donated
or bought. So, it's definitely something I'd admit to at confession.
Hell? Probably not. But not right.

It's not like you were stalking
the place waiting for someone to drop off baby items. You were making a
donation also.

Wow- I can't believe you stole a
donation from a thrift store. Shows your true character. There is no
justifying what you did - IMO.

You obviously can afford to BUY
those things there are people who struggle just to purchase items from
second hand stores. If I were you I would be ashamed of myself and would
feel like an A$$...

Re: ~~~Abc15379 I think you lost this!~~~
this will get you banned, you know.
C&P is against TOS.
Only if people sit there and report her which in this case the Op deserves to be C&P!
Not explicitly. C&P is not against the TOS.
Go away..you are annoying. You made a stupid, snarky comment on Annie's post that didn't need to be made either. Get a life.
actually c&p the post isn't. If someone continued to post pictures of her or her personal info that's against the TOS>
https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/blogs/nest_baby_editors/pages/the-bump-community-rules.aspx
They will use this for anything:
Yes, we are going to ban you if you?re malicious towards another user. Personal attacks of any kind are unacceptable, so please be mindful of the way you address others.
Don't forget that we come from the board that at one time had 1/3 of all reports from the whole Bump community, right? Don't quote me on that, I'm pretty sure that it was 1/3, though. We've had TOS quoted to us several times.
Am I going to report the poster of this thread? Hell no. But will she get banned? It's very likely, especially since ABwhatever might report her, send an e-mail to the BGs if she went as far as deleting all of her pictures.
OP, if you do get banned, think of it this way: you're that much more of a crazy chicken.
And, it wouldn't be the first time someone got banned for something ridiculous.
I was just being an upstanding citizen. She dropped something and I was doing the right thing by returning it to her.

...After all, you wouldn't want someone to steal it, right?
Oh My, what have I missed?! This is what I get for doing a shopping spree for Brylee today (and still no carseat!)
I just got your FB message Para, thank you
Goodness...I do love some late night entertainment
holy crap ... i read through that whole thread posted here...
who seriously would steal those clothes when they are perfectly able to pay for them themselves.
I am extremely strapped for cash and i wouldn't even dream about stealing anything.
There were 9 pages! And every page it just got worse and worse.
A- 09/2006 I- 04/2010 N- 04/2012 M & G- 01/2014
Wow- thats pretty disgusting. Why not just bring the stuff inside, and say "hey, some lady was donating this, I want it, how much?" It really isn't that hard to do the right thing.
OP, it was very nice of you to return what she dropped, instead of stealing it!
I find it funny that she justifies stealing those baby clothes by saying she donated furniture & clothes and house hold stuff..
IT'S NOT A F*^*ING SWAP MEET!
Those of you who justified this are dirt.
This has to be the most effed up board the Bump has...thanks for keeping the record intact.
Beyond disgusting...
She claims to have made a "large donation." So why not take that large donation and buy her own damn baby clothes as opposed to stealing them?
This, ABC. Seriously.
As someone who has family who works for this type of charitable organization and watches them struggle, pinching PENNIES (yes, I said pennies) to keep their programs afloat, especially during the current economic crisis... THEY needed that money more than you needed those clothes.
And you went there with the intention of donating items--you did not come for a swap.
You really should take that stuff back. That is seriously, seriously wrong.
