XP: yogi mamas - finding time to practice

My new year's resolution was to develop a daily yoga practice - I figured it would be a few minutes each day to spend with myself and keep me sane. However, with work and baby, I barely get time to touch my toes, let alone do a sun salutation! If you do yoga, how do you find time? Even ten minutes a day would make me happy....

  • I use yogadownloads.com because they have a great selection of 20 min workouts (most of them are free) You can put them on your iPod and do them first thing in the morning or after cardio. That's how I do it!

  • Thanks! I'll try it out!

  • When I'm in a time crunch, I'll do Namaste Yoga on Fit TV ( it's only a 1/2 hour) or I'll use one of my DVDs right before bed.

On weekends, or days when my schedule is more flexible, I'll go to yoga class.

  • DVD's are the best way to go! Most of them are only $20 and offer quick workouts. A company I work for sells these - let me know if you are interested and I can send you the link to check it out!
  • How about mommy and me yoga classes on the weekend? That way you can take baby with you and maybe make some friends too? Although you said daily, that I can't help with.  I can't do daily yoga without a baby.

That's my theory and plan since I will have the same challenge.

  • Can you prepare a 20 - 30 minute sequence to do in your bedroom first thing when you get up and set your alarm clock for about half an hour earlier than you normally get up? My husband started out just doing some stretches in the morning but he's been working up to a 30 - 40 minute practice.
