Why do they only rec. white-fleshed fishes to give your baby? I've kind of (ok, totally) ignored it because we eat mostly salmon. The babies haven't had any problems with it.
I think white fish is generally smaller fish, so less mercury levels. I really don't know though, because salmon is very nutritious and soft like white fish. I think the big things to limit are tuna, sword fish, etc. To me the benefit of fish outweighs the risk... I would think processed food is way worse.
