Can you PIP what you consider to be little girl's "everyday" shoes?

(I edited the title for girls only, although other thoughts are appreciated...)

I was having a discussion w/a friend the other day about summer shoes for our DD's.  She asked me to show her what shoes DD wears. (right now they are these:

Robeez Tredz.)

She said that she considers those "special outfit" shoes and asked me what she wears everyday? I said, the same pair.

She asks what she plays in, and I said, again, the Robeez shoes.

Is this a totally odd thing? She couldn't figure out why I don't put her in sneakers. DD has never worn sneakers. She does everything just fine in this type of shoe. I think this type of shoe matches more of her outfits and sneakers wouldn't match (not like i'm all about fashion over comfort or function, I do want her to be comfy...)

ETA that my question really is, does your LO wear "athletic style shoes" for everyday (think Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc.), or another different looking shoe (whether they be crocks, mary jane style, sandals, boots, etc.)

I don't have a girl but right now kiddo wears either chucks or stride rite sneakers.

DD wears these too. Or her jumping bean sneakers if its not wet.

  • I can't PIP, but my DD wore a pair of purple crocs with all of her outfits last summer.  This winter she wears pink Merrel sneakers or Uggs or rainboots.  She doesn't own any mary jane style shoes.
  • Like PPs, I don't have a girl... but DS wears Stride Rite sneakers.

  • DD's everyday shoes include her pediped mary janes and pink converse high tops.

  • We have 3 pairs of Robeez that we alternate with his outfits. It made sense for us because they aren't stiff and we wanted to start shoes before he started walking.
  • DS wears these pretty much everyday:

  • usually her black chucks or white & pink DC's
  • Sorry, no PIP.  My DD wears velcro Garanimal sneakers almost everyday.  We got them at Walmart for around $13-15.
  • Pink Chucks, "ugg" style boots, rain boots or keen sandals in summer
  • DD wears a little pink pair of Adidas. I buy whatever decent running shoes are at Winners.  I don't like the kids shoes they have at Wal-Mart because they are all plastic and crappy looking.  The only other place nearby that sells baby shoes is super over priced.  I love the shoes your DD wears and mine would totally wear something like that every day!

  • T constantly wore a similar pair of robeez as her all the time shoe. They were black mary janes and she wore them with everything from dresses at christmas to jeans.

She is almost 14 months and has been walking since 11 1/2 months, but I still feel like she needs fairly flexible soles. The tennies I see are usually thicker.

I bought some shoes at stride rite the other day but they're a bit big, and I want to get her some nicer shoes, and in the meantime her current all the time shoe is a pair of brown mary janes from target.

  • Those are adorable.

DD has sneakers. When it warms up she'll probably wear sandals most of the time.

  • I am not sure how to PIP but DD wears a pair similar to those but they are brown and pink most of the time to go out. She does have a pair of Nike tennis shoes that she wears to play outside or at the park though.

For the summer she will have sandals and a pair of white Keds as well as her Nike.

  • DD wears one of these two pairs of shoes to daycare during the week...the sneakers probably 75% and the pedipeds 25%.

Pediped Originals *Giselle -- Choc Brown W/ Dots * Soft Leather-Soled Shoes! MEDIUM (US size: 5-5.5 / 12-18 months / EU Size 20)

Weekends, she typically wears a pair of pedipeds, boots or flipflops/sandals, depending on the season.  If she wasn't in daycare, I don't know how much use she would get out of the sneakers.

ETA:  I love the shoes you posted and would absolutely consider them everyday shoes.

  • Puddle jumpers, chucks, a pair of nikes, some black mary janes, but right now she only likes wearing crocs. The kid is obsessed with them.
  • DD rotates between her stride rites - pink/white tennis shoes, pink mary janes and her light pink t-strap squeak shoes.  I also just ordered her 2 pairs of umi sandals.

  • that's funny.  i can never find a reason to put her in sneakers.  she's always in mary jane's or robeez style slip-ons.
  • I'm too lazy to PIP right now so I'll add links instead ;) DD typically wears these or these for every day. I also just bought her a pair of Croc ballet flats (for spring/summer- to replace her fake pink Ugg boots she wore in the winter). DD typically has about four pairs of shoes per size- one dressy, one casual, one sneaker, one "seasonal" (boots. flip-flops, etc.).

  • DD wears these (if I can get the PIP to work). They are just canvas Mary Janes.

  • DD has a lot of shoes. She just outgrew the pair you posted and she wore them for everyday or with casual dresses. She usually wears brown Stride Rite shoes right now similar to these for everyday:

She also has a pair of casual black Mary Janes she wears a lot and a pair of Adidas tennis shoes she wears quite a bit too. Then she has a few pair of dressier shoes.

In the summer, she'll wear sandals most days.

  • DD has sneakers or shoes kind of like what you have in the picture only they don't have elastic in the back or a bow on them they are just pink and they velcro across the top.  She also has a pair of clogs/crocs that she wears from time to time.  Sorry I can't PIP but I see absolutely nothing wrong with what your DD is wearing.
  • Just stride rite sneakers for the most part. She has some funky mary janes but her everyday shoe is a sneaker.

  • These are what DD has now:

She wears them about 75% of the time and then these for the other 25% a pair of Saucony sneakers that I can't find online.  I'm a "shoes" kind of girl myself, I avoid sneakers at all costs so ideally that's what I do for DD.  We'll probably find a neutral sandal for the summer, I'd like some flip flops for her if she can walk in them.

  • Kate wears shoes similar to those you posted. She doesn't wear athletic shoes/sneakers.

  • DD wears brown leather mary janes every day.  She doesn't have black in her wardrobe and sometimes wears red, so we don't need black shoes and pink wouldn't work all the time.  For the summer, she'll have a pair of sandals and maybe more mary janes.

Product Image Toddler Girls' Circo? Janai Athleisure Shoes - Pink

These are from Target's Circo collection and DD loves them. They velcro easily, fit great, and she loves the pink. These are our go to shoes whenever she wants to go outside.

This.  DD has a wide foot and the velcro is a Godsend.  I cannot imagine trying to get her foot in a sneaker.  We'd never leave the house.
