For all of you pregnant ladies, I'm wondering how many, if any of you got pregnant by accident while charting or using NFP? I don't want to get pregnant for at least another year but I want to go off bc now. Any accidents?
You'll find more charters on the Trying to Get Pregnant (TTGP) board (a lot of women here never did it/think it's stupid).
Now, I couldn't get pregnant for the life of me using charting, but it did allow me to confirm ovulation every cycle. A good friend of mine successfully avoided for almost a year before switching gears and trying to get pregnant.
I'd really suggest the book 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' if you're planning on charting to avoid. It's an excellent tool to figure out your cycles and your fertile/non-fertile times. I also recommend www.fertilityfriend.com to use for your chart. If you check out TTGP you'll see that a lot of women have fertilityfriend charts linked to tickers in their siggies, so you can take a look at how it works. The basic program is free, the VIP is cheap, and it's super easy to use.
I'm sure that there are accidents sometimes, but if you're diligent about your timing you should be fine! And keep condoms handy for sex during fertile times.
Good luck!

I was using NFP when I got pregnant, and we were using it to tta. It was our first month, I had just stopped using the pill, and we weren't being very strict about things (so...we weren't TTA very hard). We plan to use it again after the baby comes.
Definitely use back-up bc (condoms or diaphragm) until you are 100% confident in your charting.
I was charting because i had just stopped b/c pills after years and years and wanted to learn more about my cycle ...I became preg during the first full month of charting, slightly by accident but either way we were ready so it was good news. My cycle was 34 days the previous month, and then only 28 days the month I was charting so I was totally off on the time I thought I'd be ovulating....but sure enough, looking at my chart later, my temp dropped and that must have been the lucky time. Anyway, point is that you should be careful regardless if you're not ready...your cycle may not always be the same and it will probably take you some time to get familiar with it if you're just stopping b/c pills and allowing your cycle to be natural once again. Good luck!
