hello - new to this board! my son was born at 27w6d and is now a happy, healthy 17 month old little boy :-) i am pregnant with my second now. i've been having mild contractions for a few weeks, but the doctor wasn't worried because my cervix was doing well. unfortunately in a week i went from it measuring about 4 to measuring 2 something :-( i'm on modified bedrest until my next cervix check on Thursday. it's a little weird since my MFM has been on vacation for 2 weeks and i have been seeing her stand-in who is not the greatest at relaying information and doesn't know my whole history. he is the one who told me to "keep off your feet most of the time"....which isn't exactly completely clear. i am taking it as modified bedrest, and trying to get ahold of my MFM on Monday (when I think she gets back from vacation). so, i am kind of confused and have some questions!
my questions are these:
how much cervix do you have left?
what restrictions are you on (cerclage, bedrest, what kind of bedrest etc)?
Re: ladies with short cervix - an intro and questions!
my cervix went down to 2cm at 16w4d and i had a cerclage put in at 17w3d, when my cervic was at about 1.6cm. i have been on home couch/bed rest since 16w4d.
i sleep upstairs and come downstairs for the day to lay on my couch. i get up to go to the bathroom, get water, grab a quick snack. otherwise i am pretty much laying down.
my cervix has pretty much held steady for the last 8 weeks, which is good. i had steroid shots this week to mature the twins' lungs just in case they do come early but we are just hoping to make it to 36 weeks now, just another 12 to go!
good luck and welcome to the board. this has been a great place for me. lots of wonderful ladies who support each other. please participate in the daily bedrest mama check-ins.
My cervix has been pretty steady at 2.4ish cm since week 23. I was on strict bedrest from wk 23- wk 29 and now I am allowed a couple of outings and standing time...
Good luck!
My cervix is 0.7 cm and I've been in the hospital since 26 weeks 5 days. I had no idea! It is also funneling some. They haven't checked it in a week or two, the nurse said they might not since it is practically gone anyways. So far so good though, I haven't had any contractions, no bleeding, nothing.
