middle name for Ingrid?

Hi ladies,

We're still working on a girl's name we both love, and I keep coming back to the name Ingrid. I like how it sounds with our last name and it's a shortened version of my very German grandmother's name, which is Ingeborg.

The only middle names I can think of are Caroline and Catherine, which would mean her initials would be ICK.

Any ideas for middle names that don't make for terrible initials? :)

    Elise, Anne, Louise, Jane....

    You could spell Catherine with a "K" too...

    Ann, Elizabeth, Marie, Jane

    I'm a fan of family names for middle names. Ellie has my middle name. If we have another girl, she will probably have my maiden name as a middle name.

    I think it sounds best with at least a two-syllable middle name.

    Very unique name! I grew up in a Wisconsin town with a lot of people of Danish ancestry, and I know a couple of people who used Inge or Inga as a nickname for Ingrid.

    There are some good suggestions already on here.  I just wanted to say stick with Ingrid.  It is different and I like it.   My DD is named Luella after her great, great grandma.  It is old fashioned but it just works really well for her....and us!

    Thanks ladies! My favorites are Elise, Elisabeth, and Grace. Elise was our top girl name until we became good friends with a couple who have a 6 year old named Elise. Now we just can't see using it as a first name, but a middle name would work. :)

    And rottie - my grandma Ingeborg goes by Inge.
