sleep question

So LO gets some pretty bad gas, but so does mommy and daddy lol, and that causes him to pump his legs, and he is getting to the point where he is learning to roll. Thing is, when he kicks his legs up, it causes him to roll onto his side, and no further, just on to his side. Lol.My question, I suppose, is; should I let him do that? Just let him sleep on his side or should I prevent it with a sleep positioner?

Re: sleep question

  • I would just let him roll.  He is old enough that he should be able to turn his head should he land on his tummy.

  • My LO is doing the same thing! I got freaked out when I found him like that the first time.  I'm just letting him do it because I don't want to prevent it and inhibit his ability to learn to roll. I'm going to ask the pedi on Tuesday.
  • DS does the same thing and has been for about 2 weeks. He actually seems to sleep really well on his side. As long as your LO seems able to turn his head when you do tummy time I would think you are fine to let him stay as is. We found once DS was moving this much he was able to break out of the positioner anyway, so that's why we took it out all together.
