why? I'm curious about this. I do know that some people do so for religious reasons, but does everyone?

I went back on BCPs after the weeman was born and ditched them 3 months later. I didn't like hormonal birth control anymore and since we are planning another my OB said there was no point in IUD.

Charting to avoid is just easier and keeps the condoms out of the mix most of the time.

I'm doing it because we want to TTC soon (see ticker) and I wanted to be all free and clear of BCP and know what my cycles are like when the time came.

Also, condoms are no fun.

We were charting to avoid at first. I just had all sorts of issues with BC and went through like 5 different kinds. I also read TCOYF (at the urging of those on this board) and was interested in knowing what my body did each month.

I'm considering it. I've went back on BCP for the last year but I hate how they make me feel sometimes. Nausea, lack of sex drive, and all that other jazz. I'm coming up on needing to refill my rx, and DH is leaving in a few months anyway, and we're thinking about trying for #3 as soon as his 2 week leave during the deployment so I'm thinking I may as well just chart to avoid between now and then, and use condoms during fertile windows.

I ran out of BCP in July and didn't feel like re-filling them after 8 years of being on them. We started talking about having a baby this year so I figured I would stay off while we were getting ready to start trying.

Now that we have to wait a while longer to TTC, I thought about getting back on them to be safe. I decided against it though because I also hate what the hormones do to me, so I decided to start temping (I was already using fertility friend to chart my CM and cycle length) so we will know for sure when to abstain. I also figure this is a great way to learn about my body for when we do start to try to have a baby.

Yes, I charted to avoid because it is against my religion to be on bcp or any other barrier contraception.

I wanted to learn to chart for when we TTC. We were not using BCP and have never used condoms. We have used V.C.F. (vaginal contraceptive film) for over 6 years. Those suckers get a wee bit pricey though, so by charting, we use less than half what we were using before.

BCP had turned me into a raging, sexless, crying betoch. I also was having severe problems with insomnia (that might or might not have been bcp related.) Plus nausea and really bad headaches.

I didn't want to switch around and try to find something else and was interested in learning how to chart for when we do ttc. This way we don't have to use condoms either. We use good old pull and pray when I am fertile. (Sidenote: We don't mind getting pg now. It just made sense to wait until std would cover me.)

I also always felt somewhat guilty for using bcp because of religious reasons as well.

I'm doing it because we can't try again until at least June, I refuse to go on hormonal birth control, and I'd like to avoid condoms as much as possible.
