Thinking about my SIL got me thinking. When did you start telling people you were pregnant? We were 9 weeks, right after our first ultrasound. We wanted to make sure everything was looking good.
We told our immediate family right away. But after 3 mcs, we kept the news private for the first trimester. By the time we spilled the beans, we had at least 4 u/s (I was high risk, it's the one perk to being high risk)
We told immediate family right after the U/S and first doc appt which was around 8 weeks. Didn't tell co-workers or friends or anyone else until 12 weeks.
With our first we told my parents right away and his parents a few weeks later, everyone else after 12 weeks. With the next 2 we waited almost 12 weeks to tell anyone.
I told my mom on Easter, when I was about 7 weeks or so.. I made her wait to tell anyone until I was at least 10 weeks. About 10 weeks we started telling everyone else.
DH called everyone we know and told them when I was 5 weeks pregnant. Fortunately for us everything was fine and I didn't have to deal with the fallout of a possible miscarriage.
However, next time I think we'll wait till about 10-12 weeks before we tell anybody.
we told family and close friends as soon as we BFP, we wanted their support IF we were to miscarry again (We are a military family and my DH is not always here, so I have to have a good support system.) We told everyone after our first ultrasound at 9 weeks.
I told my sister and BFF right away. One week before our first u/s we told H's family but we didn't tell my family until after the u/s. I was told a long time ago that I couldn't have children and wanted all of the answers to the multitude of questions my family would have before telling them. We weren't going to tell anyone else until I was in the 2nd tri but while working on a project I was eltrocuted in front of a group of friends and they couldn't figure out why I was freaking out. The cat was out of the bag after that.
I think I was 8 or 9 weeks when we told our immediate family. We waited until the end of the first trimester to tell everyone else, when I knew the risk for miscarriage had gone down.

J/K, but almost. called her when I saw the faintest of lines. Then stayed on the phone with her while I went to the drug store to purchase like 5 more tests.
Then called her back when those all came back positive. She then proceeded to tell my aunts.
I was like 4 weeks (but thought I was further along due to irregular periods).

I got pregnant with Sadie immediately after a miscarriage. With the first pregnancy, we told our families immediately, then my friends. I told some of my coworkers after our first ultrasound, since we saw the h/b.
I was so gunshy after losing the first pregnancy that I didn't want to tell ANYONE. We told our families at nine weeks, but ONLY because we were going on vacation with my family and I knew they'd figure it out. I told my best friend around five weeks, and I told two of my coworkers right away. I told my other close friends after the first tri screening. I didn't tell anyone else at work until I was 20 weeks along. Of course, most of them had figured it out by then, but I didn't volunteer any information.
Since my first baby was stillborn, I wanted to wait a while. But I decided if something happened again I'd want people to know so I could have a support system. I ended up telling at 7 weeks.
12 weeks. We had an ultrasound at 8 weeks where we saw the heartbeat, but we wanted to wait until the 12 week mark when we heard it via doppler and were at the end of first tri. I didn't tell ANYONE, not even parents until 12 weeks!

We told my mom the day after BFP, and ILs the day after that, I was about 5 weeks then.
Most of our extended family were told around 8 weeks, and we told close friends then too.
It went on facebook around week 12.
