Carrier confusion...help please

I have been using a ring sling but I want to get a new carrier that will do front and back.  DS currently weighs 27lbs and is at least 33inches.  I need to be able to put it on by myself and it to give good support and last for a while weight/height wise.  I've been looking at the Ergo, Beco Butterfly II, Babhawk Oh Snap and a Mei Tai.  I missed the deal yesterday on babysteasl :( so if I'm going to pay full price I figured I'd get your recommendations!  TIA

    Patapum Toddler.  Very similar to an Ergo, but cheaper & less style/color options.  I <3 ours.

    I'm a huge fan of babyhawk in general and the oh snap is really amazingly adjustable. I also like that of the options you mentioned it's still the smallest scale business, with just one sewing house (I've seen it!) and an owner who is incredibly devoted to responsible business practices and spreading BWing love, even if her product isn't the right one for you.
