TTC after 35

DH finally did it

After dragging his feet for 3 weeks on the grounds that his insurance doesn't cover the lab the doc wrote the orders for the blood draw on, DH FINALLY got his blood drawn for the chromosomal analysis yesterday.

Granted it took him 3 trips to the lab to get it done, but the lab is only a 10 minute walk from the research lab he works in on the hospital campus. Turned out, he went over the first time and they said they couldn't use the form he had (for the lab his insurance doesn't cover) but that if my doc could fax the order over as a prescription, they could do it. So he texted me that info and I called the nurse line. He went back over a couple hours later and this huge fax was coming in to the lab so they didn't receive the order yet. He JUST left to go back to his lab when the order came through, but the woman at the lab didn't see which direction he went. So, she called him and the message was waiting by the time he got back.

I can't tell you girls how relieved I feel that he's finally had the blood draw. I feel like, even if it would turn out to be bad news, at least we'll know where we stand. And if everything's normal, it will, of course, be a relief to know we're not overlooking anything or could/should have done something different the first two times.

  • Congratulations and good job to your DH!  I think mine would have given up after 2 tries at the lab.  It is always better to know what it going on than to imagine what could be going on.  Now you'll be able to move forward with some knowledge.  Good luck!  I hope everything turns out great!
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

Knowledge is power!  GL on the results.
