Re: anyone celebrate passover?
for soem reason MH and I look forward to passover every year. Sunday I am making a single brisket, candied sweet potato and some other veggie with salad. I also need to make pound cakes for the week, some sweet n sour beef, ambroisia and a matzo kugel.
Monday night I am making a turkey, stuffing made from farfel, matzoh ball soup, and some roasted veggies.
Tuesday night I am making brisket, sweet potatoes, matzoh ball soup, and veggies.
The stuffing is pretty good, but it has lots of eggs in it - so its not very good for you, but its only once a year, so it's okay.
do you buy the brisket at a special supermarket or does everyone carry them?
anyone have any recipes they could share? it would be much appreciated!
Since I am Christian, I have had to learn recipes from the internet. Some of the sites I go to: https://www.jewishrecipes.org/recipes/passover/index.html or https://www.chabad.org/holidays/passover/pesach_cdo/aid/32593/jewish/Recipes.htm or https://www.koshercooking.com/recipes/passover/
There are a lot more. Sometimes it hit or miss - it took me 3 recipes to find a brisket my DH liked - it's a crock pot recipe.
Good luck
thanks so much!!
I bought it at a kosher butcher. During Hanukkah they have a special on briskets so I buy 2 and keep one frozen for passover. Regularly its like $13/lb but the special was $9/lb. definitely worth it.
it has crackers in it?? thanks though:)
is the brisket crockpot recipe, the one with ginger ale. just wanted to check. thanks
