TTC after 35

New Here...Introducing myself :-)

Hi Ladies...I'm not quite to TTC just yet, but I need a new board.  Here is a little info about me!!

I'm 36.  We were expecting our first baby last year.  We lost our little girl at 19 weeks.  I didn't know I had any issues until I got pregnant.  Long story short, we found out our baby had Down Syndrome, I have MTHFR (on Folgard RX twice a day, and baby aspirin, along with prenatals), a complete septate uterus, and fibroids.  I will go in on Wednesday for a sonohysterogram to see where the fibroid is and if I need surgery.

I kinda think I just want to go ahead with the surgery to remove the fibroids and septum.  I'm afraid I will lose another baby and then later decide to have surgery...don't want to prolong this any longer than I have to be.

Is there anyone here who have anything similar?

I wish all you ladies the best!!!

  • Welcome to the board. I'm sorry about your loss and that you have a surgery ahead of you. You've been through so much already...it seems so unfair.I know we all have our infertility stories but I don't know anyone who has been through what you have. I can tell you all kinds of stories about my useless ovaries if you want :-)

  • I can't offer any insight, but welcome to the board.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  You will love this board, the women here are very supportive and knowledgeable.

    Best of luck.

  • Welcome to our board!

I am so sorry for your loss. ((hugs)).

I think you should go with your gut and have that surgery.

I haven't had fibroids, but I had a partial septum in my uterus. I had it removed, on  my RE's advice, because it could have potentially caused a problem down the road.

  • I am so sorry about the loss of your baby girl.

Welcome to the board - the girls here are wonderful and very supportive.

  • First of all, I am so very sorry for your loss last year.

Welcome to the board, there are a lot of great women here.  Unfotunately, I have not specific advice to give but I did have fibroids that seem to grow in leaps and bounds.  I decided to have them removed because of their location.  I hope you get answers on Wednesday - at least then you will be informed and can make the right decision for you.

  • Hi and welcome to the board.  So sorry for your loss.  Good luck with your potential surgery.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...
