Hi there! This would be a spin-off of the question about what to get or whether to get Hubby a gift when baby is born.
I think I'll try to put a gift basket together of goodies for the hospital staff. That should win me some brownie points and keep them smiling! I'll probably do some snack packs, like 100 calorie and non-100 calorie as well as some microwave popcorn and a thank you card. Possibly some drink mixes (the ones you add to water bottles) and if my mom can get there in time, some of her yummy homemade goodies.
Anyone else doing something like that? If so, do you have some more suggestions, or ideas?
Re: Will you put something together for the hospital staff?
Good idea! I've heard that nurses can only accept gifts that can be shared or put at the nurses station, so those are all good ideas.
I was thinking that I'd bake some cookies when I start going into labor & before I go to the hospital to keep my mind off being in labor. (I live less than 10 min from the hospital).
i am doing a edible arrangement
H works in the Hospital where I'll deliver so we'll probably bring something, yes.
I definitely want to bring something. I have a few friends who are nurses and the things they deal with, including the long shifts and the lack of respect, are things I'd never dream of having to endure, and I think it would be sweet to bring them goodies.
I think that since they have access to a bunch of candy and stuff in the vending machines and cafeteria I might like to bake some cookies or something. But then I'll have cookies in the house again... I did not fare so well, self-control wise, when I went on my Christmas Cookie Baking Blowout over the holidays.
No, I will not be doing that. In China, it would be really weird. The nursing staff will all be Chinese and if I gave them a gift, they would be feel obligated (cultural reasons) to give me a gift back, which puts them in an awkward position since they probably don't make that much money.
A nice thank you from me will be it!
