This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every week, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.
Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey?
Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ SAIFW
Hey there! I just started another round of Femara at 7.5mg, hopefully this will be the last one!
QOTD: How much this was really going to cost us, so we could've saved more.
Hi! I finally have an update
I'm on CD5 and just took my first Clomid dose this morning. This is my second Clomid round, and I'm on the same regimine as last time, so I don't have very high hopes. Just wanting to get it over with.
QOTD: Definitely how much it would cost. I'd still like to take a peek into the future to see how long it will take and what the outcome will be, too.
SAIF Always Welcome
Diagnosed with PCOS: 10/03, On BCP to "treat" until: 7/09
Provera to end Cycles 1-9 (anovulatory)
Cycle #4 & 5: Clomid 50 mg FAIL
RE Visit: 2000 mg Metformin
Cycle 6:Forced Break, looking for androgen secreting tumor
Cycle 7:Clomid CD 3-10, 12-17 FAIL
Cycle 8: Clomid CD 3-10, Bravelle CD 12-24 Hyperstimmed
New RE: Put on Byetta, lost 23 lbs
Cycle 9: Financial Break
Cycle 10: Femara CD 3-7, IUI CD 17 BFP on 2/14/11, m/c 3/7/11
We finally went for our IUI a week ago tomorrow!! So now just playing the waiting game and hoping for the best!!
QOTD: Cost yes, but how it was such an emotional/mental/physical toll on us! This whole thing has been so draining! We knew that it would be costly when we found out it was going to be a problem for us. I didn't know I would be as drained as I would from all of this!
Update on me: I just had my 1st Clomid monitoring appt yesterday and I have 5 eggs!! 3 on the left and 2 on the right, the front runner is a 14.5mm on the left. My LH was elevated when they checked my bw, so they want me to come in and check the progress of that egg tomorrow morning and in the meantime keep testing with OPKs to make sure we don't miss the surge. It's looking like we might do the IUI this weekend or Monday.
QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey?
I wish I would have known my OBGYN was not going to help me get pregnant, I guess I thought because he specialized in fertility that he would recognize the signs I was showing of PCOS and actually test me sooner. Unfortunately I had to find out the hard way, that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. So, I started contacting RE's and finally found a great one that I am confident can help me. I wish I would have known from the beginning, that RE's are the way to go in most cases.

My update: July is getting closer!
QOTD: Hmmm...I'm not sure. I guess I wish I would have known of the emotional toll this was going to take on me..maybe if I did I could have somehow prepared myself and not have felt/reacted the way I have a few times.
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Update: Thyroid issues run in my family so I went to the the dr. for bloodwork. Turns out I am very low in Vitamin D. I have been taking extra with my prenatal the past two weeks and my energy is actually returning.
QOTD: I just started this whole process but I wish I had gone off bc sooner to figure out my cycles...my long and annovulatory cycles. (so far)
update:
First RE appt was yesterday, we are scheduling a saline sono and a SA, tossing my BBT thermometer (yay!) and pending all those results (+lots of b/w) moving on to monitored Femara + Ovidrel + TI
side note: not sure if I still belong here, RE thinks its probably not PCOS, more like my hypothalmus/pituitary/ovaries don't communicate so I don't ovulate. But I feel like we all have such common stories/problems.
QOTD: Besides the fact I would have ditched the pill before we got married, I wish I had known what was wrong with my body instead of going so long without periods and just letting the doctors keep sticking me back on the pill
QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey?
I wish I had known about the PCOS sooner so I would have stopped my BCP's sooner than I did. I had regular cycles in high school and college, like clockwork and took BCP's from age 21-29 to prevent pregnancy. Because I had regular cycles when I was younger, I figured they would be normal post birth control. I don't know what changed during my BCP years to bring out the PCOS and that's what is the most frustrating.

Lots of Luck to all of 3T/IF
Good morning!
Just had my first follie check after my first cycle of Clomid (50mg). There were follicles, so that made me happy, but the u/s tech said they were small.
Now I wait to hear back after the dr has time this afternoon to review the b/w and u/s results to hear if there hope at least a couple will mature in time.
QOTD: I wish I had have known years ago that I had PCOS. I had problems years ago, and brought them up with my GP and was told that it was told if I wanted a regular period they would just put me on the pill. No testing, nothing. But then again 10 years ago I had no reason to push the issue.
Diagnosed with PCOS March '10 - Started 1000mg of Metformin

After 3 unsuccessful Clomid cycles, FSH+Ovidril+IUI+Progesterone=BFP!
Time to make Emilie a big sister!
May '16 2.0: Letrozole+FSH+Menopur+Ovidril+IUI+Progesterone=BFP! first beta-45.44, second beta-148
10 DPO today, after my first ever ovulation, and going crazy. Stupid me caved and tested this morning and got a negative, but my temps keep going up so I hope that is a good sign.
QOTD: How long this would all take, all the testing we'd have to go through before even going on meds, and that the meds might not work right away. I might have started this all sooner.
So I triggered last night! I had 4 mature follies so I'm hoping 1 (at the most 2) becomes a baby!:) I go in April 9th for my beta... It's going to be a lonnnnnng 2ww:P
QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey? -- That I had PCOS. Had I known earlier I wouldn't have wasted most of the year trying on our own. Just frustating finding out months and months later and realizing we had almost no shot of it happening that whole time. Oh well:)
Well I am getting ready to start all over. We are going to go with femera this time instead of clomid, RE said less % of m/c with femera. Can't start until we get RPL test results back though and have a repeat SIS. I am just ready to get started again.
QOTD: I have thought about this before. I don't think we would have started TTC sooner if we had known, might have tried to save more money, but we are pretty conservative financially. Maybe just made my dr refer me earlier so I could get diagnosed with PCOS, rather than waiting 6 months.
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
Update: I had my CD3 bloodwork last week. Today I have my HSG and DH has his SA. Strangely, my CD3 results looked nothing like PCOS, but given that I have every other PCOS symptom in the book, we're not doubting the original diagnosis yet.
QOTW: I wish I had known that I would have to try for a year before insurance would kick in, even though I had a diagnosis before I even went off the pill. I would have started a year earlier.
Hi Ladies- I'd love to join this group! I think my siggy has all the details. Thanks!
Update: Our 2nd IUI is tomorrow so fingers crossed!
QOTD: I wish I knew earlier that Clomid cycles should be monitored. MY OB had me on 3 cycles with no monitoring before I switched to an RE. I feel like it was such a waste, and part of the reason we had to move to injectables. But feeling positive about this cycle!
Make a pregnancy ticker
QOTD: That you can't even enjoy a BFP really. You have to wait until the u/s to see if everything is really okay. Maybe I was naive but I thought once I got my BFP everything would be okay.
Update: It looks like I am having my second loss. Just waiting on the RE to call with the bad news. I just pray that I don't have to go back in for another beta because it's not below 5. I want this nightmare to end as quickly as possible.
Update: I am going for my u/s tomorrow for IUI#1 but I'm not letting myself get too excited but I am a little hopeful.
QOTD: I wish I had known I was PCOS to begin with. It would have been helpful and I would have made the decision to go to the RE sooner. I also wish that I had told myself not to put things off 'just in case I'm pg.' I've made a couple of professional decisions that way and also some silly things like not painting our office the way I want to since it's the room we'd use for a nursery. I could've been enjoying a color I actually liked for over a year and a half now!
Currently on Provera waiting for AF to come so we can start first IUI cycle
QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey? I wish I would have controlled my weight better and didnt gain 25 lbs after our wedding, I know that my period is more regular when I weigh less and yet I still packed on the lbs, now I'm racing to lose weight cause metformin sucks
IUI #4 BFP EDD 5.5.2012 m/c 10/1/2012
Surprise! BFP 12/4/12 EDD 8/8/2012
I had a tiny bit of spotting the past two days and have fully convinced myself that it's implantation spotting. I have gone mad, I didn't even get a +OPK (never have!) but still think I must be pregnant. I think I've officially lost it and am totally setting myself up for a reality check next week.
QOTW: Wow, so much. I wish we would have started buckling down on getting rid of debt, living frugally and saving up more! I wish I had been dx with PCOS earlier so that I could have changed my lifestyle earlier... it's very hard for me to change up my diet/exercise now... and get used to taking Met regularly.
I just had my baseline for my last IUI cycle this morning. Will probably start gonal-f tomorrow. Having a difficult time this week.
I don't know, I feel like I don't know anything now that would've helped me then.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
My pregnancy after Infertility Blog
Our baby girl was born on April 27, 2011!
I am in the middle of the 2ww. Last night I puked at 11pm and was giddy inside thinking that maybe it could be MS (yeah, I know...a bit too early for it, lol) but then when it turned the other way....must have been something I ate. I feel fine this morning other than a foggy head.
QOTD: There's so much I wish I knew before. Probably the main part is just how hard it would be, how encompassing it would become. You can't really know until you've lived it though. The emotional drain is crazy hard. You take that and add unsupportive people and it just magnifies it. In the last two months I have become estranged from my dad and my step family for this. They will never, ever get it and their treatment of me since my step-sister's accidental pregnancy has shown me that.
Currently pg with our 1st after 6.5 yrs of IF (thank you IVF)
My IF/Everything Blog
There's No Crying in Baseball
***My posts are always SAIFW**
Right now I'm in the middle of the tww. It's going to be a long 7 days.
QOTD: I wish I would have asked for a referal to a FS after a year of trying instead of messing around with my OBGYN. She has good intentions but unfortunately didn't know squat about getting my pregnant.
Update: Finished provera yesterday, now waiting on AF so we can get started with clomid and IUI#1
QOTD: I wish I had stressed waaay less about my temps since nothing ever happened! I spent so much time analyzing temp dips/jumps/fertile cm, I could have been way more productive, lol.
~Life After Infertility~
I just finished my first round of treatment on Femera+Ovidril+TI with a BFN outcome. I am still waiting on AF to show her ugly face. I am thinking if I don't start by Sunday I will start on the provera and go from there with the same treatment for next cycle.
QOTD: Oh lord.... I wish I would have know so much about the entire IF journey. I feel like I have so many people in my family and friend circle that just get pregnant by thinking about it and then there is me.... It's very depressing and I wish I would have known how hard it was going to be before I psyched myself up 2 years ago with a "I'm going to have a baby now" mind set.
We're kind of in a holding pattern right now. We start a PCOS research study soon, so we're just doing TI right now. We both go in for testing May 7th, then I start Clomid or Femara (double-blind study).
QOTD: That DH really did want children & we should've started trying years ago.
Married 1/2/99.
TTC since 4/09.
Diagnosed PCOS. Diagnosed Hypothryoid 11/09.
SHG & SA normal. PCOS Research study started 5/10.
Clomid/Femara cycle #1 - 6/10 = BFN
Clomid/Femara cycle #2 - 7/10 = BFP #1 - Missed miscarriage 9/2/10
11/12 - BFP #2 - 11/22 - m/c
5/1/11 - BFP #3 - Pre-eclampsia, IUGR & bed rest from 32w. DD born via induction 1/4/12.
In the 2ww, 6dpiui (1st IUI)so another long week to wait. I think I might POAS April fools day:)
QOTD: I really wish we would have known it would take this long. IFso we would have started trying sooner.
Hi everyone!
We will be doing IUI #1 this afternoon, so we are super excited. I had 2 mature follies on the right side yesterday, both 20mm. I triggered at the appt and am really hoping this works!
QOTD: What is the one thing you wish you would have known at the beginning of this crazy journey?
That my CM might be killing DH's swimmers...I think we would have moved on to IUI ***MUCH*** sooner.
update: I'm in my 2nd cycle of femara+follistim+TI. I'm doing my 2nd follistim injection tonight and going for my 2nd follie check tomorrow afternoon. Alot of 2nds in that update!
qotd: I wish I would have known about charting and using it to TTA instead of using bcp for so many years. I would have been diagnosed with PCOS sooner and probably would have started TTC sooner as well.
Update: Our first ultrasound is scheduled for 4/7
QOTD: I wish I would have known the cost as well. I also wish I would have known about PCOS sooner so doing more things to manage my weight earlier would have been a priority.
No real updates here. Still in our holding pattern.
QOTD: I wish I'd have known how much IF would frustrate me, how bitter I would feel sometimes, how painful everyone else's joy would be sometimes. I try so hard to keep an open mind about our situation and about my friends' pregnancies, but I'm becoming increasingly bitter and irritable about the whole darn thing. I wish I'd have known that ahead of time...
I am pregnant!! My beta was yesterday at 15 dpo and it was a 28.4. My second beta is on Saturday and my third is on Monday. We are praying that everything doubles and the baby is fine. I am handling this pretty well, I think, and I can't wait till Monday. I doesn't feel real yet!
QOTD: In hindsight I would have bugged my doctor more about my lack of period FOR NINE MONTHS after going off the pill. They kept telling me that it can take some women 1 year to get their period back. Well, I wish I had been more brave and less trusting.

Nothing new to update yet....hopefully next month they will be able to get me ovulating
I knew it was going to be hard,I just never in my wildest dreams expected this much.I wish I would have known to save more money and be able to find a better doctor.
I had a crazy cycle. Turns out that I didn't even ovulate, but since I didn't get the b/w back in time, I had no reason not to test and my positive test turned out to be left over trigger, at 15dpo. I was crushed, but I am hoping it was just a fluke and I have one more cycle to something before my Lap. So now I am on cd3 and hoping to schedule a PCT some time this cycle. Need to call doc tomorrow.
qotd: I wish I had known that I needed to stay on top of my weight gain and try to stop it before I had put on 30 lbs over 6 years. It is hard enough for me to diet, but I need to also excercise to loose weight.
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
No real updates here...still chuggin along on the weight loss train
I have another 20 lbs to go before I go back to the doctor!
QOTD: I can only imagine how stressful it will be financially for us if the first rounds of meds (met and/or clomid) dont work..but right now Im just super anxious for everything to happen, I hate wondering if my body is going to respond or if something else is wrong that I dont know about yet. I feel like I have constant anxiety. That and I always think about possibly NEVER having a child of my own.
2 questions for you ladies:
1- I'm goin on 3+ months without a period. Went to the doc and he said it isnt crucial to have a period right now...like its ok that my body isnt bleeding (and because we know WHY it's not either) It makes sense in my head since Im taking time out to lose weight anyways, but sometimes I wonder if that's normal? Provera would only be given if I want to start another cycle with timed sex and temp right?!
2- I'm tend to be really passive with people of authority...(like my doctor). Im already afraid that I might have to challenge him if he wants me to take clomid under his care (which I dont want to...I want to be under an RE's care for that)...and Im just afraid that he will suggest the wrong plan for me...even though I myself dont know what the right plan is. Is there a "typical" pattern of events that happen when you go on clomid? No matter how much I read, I always confuse myself and become super overwhelmed, I want to be as informed as possible when I go to see him next time. I want to be able to ask the right questions without saying something stupid. Any suggestions or ideas to help me overcome my fear of confrontation?! And any "clomid and other fertility meds for dummies" suggestions?!
I just dont feel like I know everything thats supposed to go on...like when do you get an hsg? and when and why would you get a lap?! Im such a newb...
