Met with my lawyer yesterday: update on visits and divorce
I will try to make this short, sweet, and to the point. I met with my lawyer to discuss our supervised visits and how STBXH is being verbally abusive to me and my mom during the visits and also to try to get things moving regarding the divorce.
In regards to the supervised visits:
We will enter a plea to the judge to change the visits so if STBXH wants a visit with DS, he will have to pay a court-appointed supervisor. Visits would still be at my home, but I would not longer be the one supervising. My lawyer thinks we have a good chance of pushing this through as I have documented everything and also have police reports backing up my documentation.
In regards to the divorce:
Since we have received no response from STBXH's lawyer regarding our proposal, we are going to issue a letter saying that they have ten days to respond, and if we don't hear anything back we will try to get a divorce by default.
I am very relieved about this and the other good news is STBXH might be willing to work with me about sharing custody of the dog, Tug. But that is what he said yesterday, today could be another story

I randomly stumbled across this post and would encourage you to delete it. By talking about things that you discussed with your attorney and disclosing your attorney's opinions on these things, you are potentially destroying the attorney-client privilege that keeps you and your attorney's conversations confidential (i.e. can't be revealed to your ex).
